Why I am at MATC
The worlds seems to be moving towards a new revolution, a revolution that will change and define the world the way nothing else has. The driving force behind this steamroller? Technology. It has already defined us as a generation. Technology, so far, has been improving exponentially year after year. Better technology and hardware becomes cheaper and more affordable faster than anyone would have expected. The downside, one might say, of this increased affordability of technology is that it seems to be making most jobs unnecessary. This is one of the reasons that I have chosen to go to MATC. I want to be able to not only work with advancing technology, but I also want to be able to have a job that will be in much higher demand in the future. Technology is a great field to get into and there are so many ways you can fiddle with programs and software and hardware, the possibilities are amazing. Right now I am just trying to get this diploma because I don't plan to work in a factory for the rest of my life. Currently, I am employed at Patrick Cudahy. It is not a bad job, but it is definitely a job I don't see myself at 4 years from now. I have to say, I do feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment since it is hard to work and got to school full time. There is little time for me to dabble in hobbies. When you're working all week, weekends are godsent. I have to enjoy every single minute, that's why I hang out with friends as much as I can, catch up on whatever TV series I'm watching, try to read and finish books, explore new places and try new things, and try to learn new things every single day. When you're trying to keep up with technology, you get little time to rest.
